You were four, I was a young wife and mother of two infants - one and 2 1/2 years old. When you have little ones under your care, it seems you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. We put down a matress and slept in the hall because our house was all windows. We were able to keep in phone contact with my parents and sister in the heart of Miami. They were in touch with my brother in Miami Springs. Six huge Australian Pine trees (up by their roots) landed on his roof and he could not get out except to climb through a small bathroom window. All through our neighborhood homes had their large plate glass living room windows blown out and their sliding doors too.If one went the other went. We were fortunate and lost nothing. It took weeks though at all of our homes just to get the limbs and brush up. I've been through a lot of hurricanes but Donna was the worst for me because I feared any minute harm would come to my little ones.Nancy Simpsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06468975663711270696noreply@blogger.com
